So one of the top ten apps in the world, Snapchat, has taken over all phones. The one app that gives you the opportunity to take a photo or video and send it to your friends for up to ten seconds and then POOF, it’s gone for good. Now, stepping it up a notch they created a feature to add a ‘story’. A story allows you to create a whole time line for 24 hours, squeezing in as many photos and videos at once. Then once again, it’s gone after.

An interesting feature is how it gives you the ability to scan your phone book, adding those contacts that you’ve had in your phone book for years that you don’t talk to anymore. That makes it extra interesting. Getting an occasional snap from that crowd. Nonetheless when they send out a a ‘story’.
One extra feature is that it will notify you when a snapshot is taken of your photo. Beware on what you send to your friends, you can easily regret it! A large search engine term today is ‘snapchat pictures leaked’ and you know what those websites consist of!

It doesn’t stop there with the unique features. You can draw directly on the image taken or add text in a few different styles. And not only can you take a photo/video facing forward but you can also flip the phone to take a selfie. Something sweet about that is it actually provides a flash, something the iPhone camera doesn’t even do!
One thing that has always been a mystery is how they make their money. There are no advertisements on the app (finally a good app with no ads!). But I may be speaking too soon, who knows. Right now with research going on, Snapchat is said to be the latest to join the $10 billion valuation club; joining Uber, Airbnb and Dropbox.

So how did something so simple yet with a little uniqueness to it become so big? In this generation it’s all about the cellular devices and social life! Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and now Snapchat. Welcome Snapchat, welcome!
