We as humans tend to have a hard time setting a goal and seeing that goal through to completion without being sidetracked. This is detrimental to our journey for riches and luxury. Lets take a look at how you can organize your goals and projects a bit more efficiently to get where you’re going.
Your goal list keeps you focused on the big picture
My strategy as of late is to have a goal list, and a to-do list. My goal list is the things I want to accomplish, while my to-do list is the steps I need to take to get there. As an example: one of my goals is to reach 100,000 visitors a day on STEAKWOOD, while one of my to-do list items may be to reach out to potential advertisers and give them the benefits of advertising to such a motivated, alpha, super hero-esk visitor such as yourself.
We subconsciously move towards things we desire
Maybe subconsciously isn’t the word I am looking for, but this is a phenomenon I have observed. You focus on your goal until it becomes a burning desire and you can’t help but think of it. Then while going about your day instead of day dreaming about Kate Upton sleeping over at your apartment, you may find yourself day-dreaming about what you can do to get that raise at work.
And what happens when you think about things more? You start to notice more opportunity, it’s almost magical at times. You have been searching for a job for awhile and suddenly a series of events leads you right to the job you were looking for, and you celebrate with your ale of choice before getting laid by that super model shaped babe you have been dreaming about.
Writing things down helps keep your memory fresh, don’t forget what you’re doing!
Another benefit of keeping a list of goals is you wont forget what you’re working on. Wake up in the morning and go over your list of goals, update it, add on to it, and mark off what you have accomplished. There is a great sense of accomplishment in marking off a goal you have had on your list for awhile, and a reason to celebrate.
